This is the Lloyd's Building, home of the insurance institution Lloyd's of London, so not a factory !
It was designed by architect Richard Rogers, and like the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the building was innovative in having its services such as staircases, lifts, electrical power conduits and water pipes on the outside, leaving an uncluttered space inside. One may like it or hate it, but clearly the building has became an iconic landmark of The City !
