Opera House, Sydney, Australia

This is a photo of the Sydney Opera House, New South Wales, Australia. Designed by the Danish architect Jørn Utzon, the project was built in three stages : 1959–1963 consisted of building the upper podium; 1963–1967 saw the construction of the outer shells; 1967-1973 consisted of the interior design and construction. It was formally opened in 1973 by Elisabeth II, and in 2007 was made a UNESCO World Heritage. To know more about it, please refer to following Wikipedia web page Sydney Opera House.

As a proud Dane, I am happy to see your great photos of the opera house in Sydney. Incredible building; there is just so much and so many angles to shoot on this architectural wonder.

Did you do anything special while shooting, or is most of the effects done afterwards?

Hi Torben, I took hundreds of shot of the opera house when I was in Sydney. That was 3 beautiful days, but there was harsh light conditions (blue sky, harsh sun and light). Most of my photos have ended up with either dark blue sky without clouds, either with white background. I thought a bit of digital darkroom work was necessary to hightlight this architectural masterpiece, by darkening the sky.

Oh my how fortunate you are to be able to travel all over and take photos.

I am simply in love with your work. I apologize for being away for a couple of days.

My schedule is on extreme over load right now.

I just switched to a photography blog from a spiritual blog.

And all of my friends keep giving me awards and tagging me.

I love them for thinking of me. And of course it helps with PR and all.

But, it also hinders me greatly in my effort to focus only on photography.

I hope you have a great week!:-))
